Eleanor Reed
Writer, reader, and slow living enthusiast. I write about finding meaning in the ordinary moments and cultivating a life of intentional simplicity.
I'm Eleanor Reed, a writer based in a small town where the seasons still mean something and neighbors still wave from their porches.
For fifteen years, I worked in the fast-paced world of tech, climbing ladders and chasing metrics. Then one day, standing in my corner office overlooking the city, I realized I couldn't remember the last time I'd watched a sunset or finished a book just for pleasure.
That realization led me here—to this quieter life, to this small corner of the internet where I share my thoughts on slow living, creativity, and the art of paying attention.
What I Write About
My writing explores the spaces between: between productivity and presence, between ambition and contentment, between doing and being. I'm fascinated by how small shifts in attention can transform our experience of everyday life.
I write about books that change us, rituals that ground us, and the quiet courage it takes to live against the grain of a culture obsessed with more, faster, bigger.
My Philosophy
I believe that a meaningful life isn't built through grand gestures but through small, consistent choices. It's choosing the handwritten note over the quick text. The slow meal over the fast food. The real conversation over the endless scroll.
I believe in questions more than answers, in process more than product, and in the radical possibility of contentment.
Beyond the Blog
When I'm not writing, you'll find me tending my garden (badly, but with great enthusiasm), taking long walks with no destination, or curled up with a cup of tea and a book that's making me think.
I live with my partner and two cats who have very strong opinions about everything.
